My Fellow Skincare Consultants
We’ve covered what the products are and what they do, now it’s time to turn this knowledge into sales. When I start the sales process, I start with “Who is this product for?  When you hear the benefits of a product, did someone come to mind?  Did you think of a group of people such as overworked moms?  People who neeeedddd that spa day but think they can’t afford it? I love to make a list of who needs this product or who my ideal customer is. Sometimes specific people will come to mind, sometimes you have to figure out who that ideal person is.  

Once you figure out who the product is for, go find them! Social Media is my go to for making connections, especially in a global pandemic.  I love making connections in like-minded groups such as Mom groups, direct seller groups, yoga groups.. I join groups, or create them and network online.  I get to know the person, genuinely.   Every day I spend about 10 minutes going through these groups and connecting with others. I will make genuine comments, send personal messages IF its appropriate. This helps me to genuinely get to know people, they connect with me and we’ve built this solid foundation. Once I’ve made that connection, I can grow my network.  That way when a products comes out , I can approach them with this product and they will trust me.  They know that I’m not just selling to them, they know that I am actually trying to help them and serve them in some way. Not everyone will be a customer but they will be a connection.  When my friend Sally, that I met in a mom group goes to lunch with her friend Suzy, and Suzy tells Sally her face is so dry, Sally will tell her friend “I know my friend Whitney can help you!” I also like to post on social media in my customer group asking questions like ‘what is your biggest skin care concern”. This allows me to really serve others with solutions and products. This is not me just selling a product this is me offering a solution with product.  I am a problem solver for someone. This will also build trust so when they have another issue that they want to work on or want to improve they know that they can come to me and I will have a solution for them.  This is such a great way to grow your business.

Another idea for more traditional sales is to offer a DIY at home spa night.  You could send your friends/family/customers a Menu of Services/Treatments, have them send you what “treatment” they would like, and have the product that mimics the treatment at the party. Get some sheet masks, samples, candles, snacks, bubbly drinks, and enjoy a night of fun and spa treatments in your home.  Everyone will love it, and will more than likely order the products they got to experience.  We know when customers try, they buy!  

Ask for the sale.  If you don’t ask, the answer is always no.

We have such an incredible opportunity to provide spa level treatment.  How many people do you know that have counted themselves out of a spa treatment because they couldn’t afford it?  Guess what? They can!
